Dear PRNFC members; past, present and prospective,
It is with a heavy heart that we announce the closing of the Patuxent River Navy Flying Club. After 61 years, we officially closed our doors on September 9th, 2025. Unfortunately, financial struggles got the best of us.
Luckily, our T-41 N7869N will be transferred to the Memphis Navy Flying Club where she’ll hopefully have many more years serving the military community.
Please join us for a final farewell on October 14th, at 5:30pm. RSVP with the number in your party at the email link below. We hope to see you all there.
Yours in flying,
Amanda McHugh
The Patuxent River Navy Flying Club (PRNFC) was a recreational and instructional flying organization based at Naval Air Station Patuxent River in Maryland, USA. Membership was open to all active duty, reserve, and retired military, Civil Air Patrol, civil servants, DoD contractors, and their immediate families. The objective of PRNFC was to provide an off-duty, voluntary educational opportunity for base personnel to develop skills in aeronautics including piloting, navigation, mechanics, and other related aero sciences. We enabled naval aviators to maintain their pilot proficiency while assigned to non-flying billets as well as to encouraged an awareness and appreciation of general aviation. We aimed to provide low-cost, safe, light aircraft operations, and a social program to promote club activities and morale.
